Volkswagen has added the BlueMotion fuel saving Technology to the Scirocco. The Volkswagen Scirocco coupe’s 2.0-litre diesel engine that produces 138bhp now features Fuel saving benefits such as stop start and battery regeneration systems as standard. All this technology means the Scirocco BlueMotion with a six-speed manual gearbox can achieve 62.8mpg while only producing 118g/km of carbon dioxide emissions, this is an increase of 7.4mpg up and a reduction of 16g/km of carbon dioxide. The Volkswagen Scirocco’s equipped with DSG also see fuel economy increasing from 51.4mpg to 57.6mpg, while CO2 emissions fall from 145g/km to 129g/km. Volkswagen has also improved the high powered 2.0-litre 168bhp TDI diesel in the Scirocco GT, which improves the economy slightly to 54.4mpg, while reducing CO2 to 134g/km in six-speed manual cars. Volkswagen has not only improved the Scirocco but they have also improved the Passat CC by adding the same Fuel saving technology. The Volkswagen Passat BlueMotion tweaks improve economy from 50.4mpg to 60.1mpg and the Co2 comes down from 146g/km to 125g/km this is a big improvement form the 138bhp 2.0-litre diesel engine.
