Brand New Kia Soul
The Kia Soul didn't quite live up to the expectations when first released, but some recent alterations have helped to improve this distinctive supermini-MPV.

The Kia Soul always stood out due to the vehicles stocky appearance, but was never especially stylish. With added LED daytime running lamps, redesigned headlights and tweaked bumpers, the new model is more of a head-turner than ever. The only change inside the vehicle is the amended centre console.

The previous four-speed automatic has been replaced with a six-speed box which improves both performance and efficiency. The CO 2 emissions have been reduced to 151g/km with the 0-60mph time 10.7 seconds, faster than the original 11.3 seconds.

As for the drive, the motor takes corners with ease and feels refined at high speed. However, the Kia Soul still suffers from similar niggles that effected the old version, such as a stiff ride and not enough feedback from its steering. Overall, though, the new model is much better value, because of its 16-inch alloys on the mid range 2. Even the standard model gets body-coloured mirrors, Bluetooth and steering wheel-mounted.
