Infiniti Electric Roadster

Infiniti have plans to release a mid engine roadster and they look like they are going to do it with a zero emission electric sports car. Infiniti hope to show the new Electric Roadster of at the Geneva Motor Show which will take place early March 2012. Early suggestions about the designs say the new Infiniti may take styling features from the Infiniti Essence concept first seen at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show. 

The power plant for the new Infiniti will consist of an electric motor, batteries and engine which will only be used to top up the batteries. If the feedback from the general public is good then there is a good possibility Infiniti will look for someone to share the new project with and Red Bull Racing is said to be there preferred candidate.

The Infiniti M executive will use the 2.1 litre Mercedes-Benz diesel engine from 2013 onwards  while the Infiniti G which will be going up against the 3 Series BMW will use the same engines late on in 2013. There is also the possibility that Infiniti will build a coupe/crossover vehicle based on the Etherea concept which will be the size of the current Audi A3 and could be built in Europe which will be a first for the Infiniti Group.
