The Hyundai ix35 is a no nonsense, good-value SUV. The crossover features the Korean’s firms ‘fluidic sculpture’ design language. The front features a hexagonal grille, while the bonnet has a sculpted design, the side and rear of the Hyundai ix35 have similar features to Ford’s S-MAX MPV. Despite the Hyundai ix35 imposing looks, the ix35 is shorter than a Audi A3 Sportback but with the extra height in the cabin space is more than ample. And the Hyundai offers 591-litres of space in the luggae compartment, thanks to a flat floor and squared-off wheelarches. The Hyundai ix35 is packed with plenty of standard kit, especially the top spec Premium trim, you get part-leather upholstery, cruise control and an electric sunroof. Press the Hyundai ix35 start button, and which ever choice of engine you have fires up smoothly. The Hyundai ix35 comes with the choice of either Diesel or Petrol but the 2.0 litre Diesel is the better choice of the two engines, providing a decent amount of power. The new six-speed manual gearbox provides easy gear change without any fuss. The Hyundai ix35 comes with the choice of either 2 or 4 wheel drive but Hyundai’s 4x4 system will only engage if the wheels slip or traction is lost. The ix35 is comfortable to drive on the motor and B Roads so this should please all drivers. Hyundai has announced plans to try and introduce 10 new models before march 2011, and the first one is the Hyundai ix35.
