2012 Honda Civic
Honda used the Frankfurt Motor Show to debut there new Honda Civic which is said to be cheaper to run and more comfortable to drive than the previous model. Honda’s compact family hatchback has been given a thorough overhaul in order for it to keep in touch with such vehicles as the all-new Ford Focus latest VW Golf and Hyundai i30.
The New Honda Civic is longer, wider and lower than the outgoing model but it still only has the same space inside. No dramatic visual changes to the new Honda Civic, as time has been invested by ex Honda Formula One aero engineers to make the new Civic much more efficient. The results of this make the Civic the most aerodynamic car in its class, with a drag coefficient of only 0.27, which is 10 per cent better than the Old Honda Civic.
The new Civic now comes with Honda’s stop-start system as standard, which makes it much cleaner and cheaper to run. Honda’s updated 2.2-litre i-DTEC diesel engine bhp has been increased to 148bhp from 138bhp while only producing 110g/km of CO2. This means road tax is free for the first year and £20 for every year after that.
