BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe

Following in the footsteps of Mercedes CLS and Audi A7, BMW has declared the 6 Series Gran Coupe its opening vehicle into the four door coupe family.

Regardless of an additional 113mm in its  wheelbase, It’s hard to tell the difference between the four-door and two-door Gran Coupe, first previewed at the Beijing Motor Show in April. The major difference is in the added space for back passengers legroom, with foldable seats in the back of the car to allow for a boot space capable of 1,265 litres. 

BMW have replaced the 401bhp 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 in 650i model with changeable valve control. Through the boost in power comes a much enhanced performance, with the 650i BMW Gran Coupe accelerating from 0-62mph in 4.6 seconds, even faster than the lighter two-door model. 

BMW will offer the 6 Series Gran Coupe in SE and M Sport efficient preferences. The SE models will be given 18 inch alloys, sat nav, leather interior, parking sensors and heated front seats. To differentiate, the 650i models will be given 19-inch alloy wheels, a chrome framework with dark grey gloss interior trim. On the other hand, the M Sport form acquires an aerodynamic body kit, 19 inch alloys, black exhaust pipes, aluminium trim and sports seats.

The 640i and 640d will arrive in June 2012 with the 650i model shortly behind in August 2012. Prices will start from £61,380 for a 640i SE and go upto £75,130 for the M Sport trim. Until then, check out our currect selection of BMW deals on Lease Cars Direct.
